It makes me super happy to photograph babies throughout their first years. It is such a gift to see their personalities bloom. Mister H is now seven months old and I know he's only gonna get cuter and cuter!

lower minland & vancouver island shoot-a-thon | whitehorse children's photographer

I'm so excited to announce that in the spring, I'll be making a trip to the lower mainland of BC and Vancouver Island for children's portrait sessions! Unfortunately, I will be unable to do newborn sessions but outdoor maternity & outdoor kids sessions for all ages (from babies sitting up to 16).

I will be accepting bookings for the dates of May 26-30 in the Lower Mainland (specific areas TBA) and on June 2-6 for Vancouver Island (specific areas TBA) and the details work as follows::

-$250 session fee is required at the time of booking to secure your session.
-session fees are 100% non refundable
-there is a $500 print requirement (payment plans can be arranged)
-sessions will be an hour to an hour and a half long
-max of 3 siblings ($50 for each additional child), immediate family only.


I need your help to ensure that this event is a huge success! Refer your friends, sisters, neighbors, colleagues and anyone else you know with kids to book a session with me while I'm in the city and not only will you receive a $50 print credit to spend on your print order (which WILL count towards your $500 print reqirement) but the friend you refer will ALSO get a $50 print credit to spend on their print order.

You are encouraged to refer a many people as possible... the more people who book as a result of your referral, the more print credit you can earn!! Unbelievable!!

danica's birthday session | whitehorse children's photographer

This lovely little girl was here at the studio near the end of 2011 with her cousins (see the photos) and came back again for a super cute birthday session that was clearly all about purple. Danica is a December baby and this is our second birthday session. It seems like a million years ago that we documented her turning one (see the photos). Wow, time sure zips by.

There's something extra cute about the way a 2 year old can get into downward dog so effortlessly. I, on the other hand do not have quite the same level of flexibility... although I do try :)

And as all of you who are parents know, when a two-year old decides to do things her own way, that is what you get. Just go with it. (and can I even tell you how much I love those curly little pigtails?!?!)

I love babies. I love the faces, the personalities, the chub... I love it all. These two ladies were everything I hoped for and more. They brought with them no shortage of great expressions, totally different personalities and yeah, some chub.

Families always remember to celebrate the upcoming birth of a new little one (or little ONES) with maternity portraits. Newborn photos are a given too.... as are first birthday and other milestones but let's not forget the fun that can be had in a 6-month session. Personalities are beginning to blossom and each little person definitely has likes & dislikes, preferences and abilities. These things change so fast that it is easy to forget to bring your little one in for professional portraits at these super fun in-between stages. I adore working with babies & children and invite you to book a session to remember this fun & fleeting stage in your child's first year.

And if you know me at all, you know I love a good outtake. This one is on the shortlist for 2011 of favorite outtakes. There was a broken-hearted cry that accompanied that sad little face. Good thing mama was nearby to soothe this sweetie.
