time to celebrate! | whitehorse teen photographer

Tonight marks the beginning of Birthday Week! Starting tomorrow, I will begin celebrating my 35th birthday and I feel compelled to share a little birthday love!! As you know, the Arctic Winter Games concluded this past weekend and the Yukon athletes did a magnificent job of competing in the varied sports. We racked up a whopping 122 total medals with 29 of those being big, fat, shiny GOLD!!

So in the spirit of birthday week, I will be giving each and every gold medalist ages 18 and under (including everyone on a gold-medal team) their own individual complimentary portrait session!! The list of names is humongous so I need all of you - my fans, friends, colleagues and clients- to help spread the word!! I need to hear from every athlete by the end of March in order for them to claim this gift!!

Sessions must be claimed by a parent, even if the athlete is 18 years old.

edited:: Sessions must be claimed by March 31, 2012. Sessions do NOT have to be scheduled for within the month of March, rather by the end of the calendar year. However, when you call to claim this gift, you must be prepared to select a date.

Call the studio at 867-668-2296 Monday to Friday from 9-5.

Congratulations to all of our amazing athletes, you made this entire territory proud and it is my honor to celebrate each of you and your incredible accomplishments.

Happy Birthday Week Eve, Whitehorse!

lego obsessed | whitehorse teen photographer

This handsome young man joined me in the studio for a crazy fun session where we discussed the finer points of Yoda's grammar, decided that the Lego people need to consult with a panel of young experts (starting with Levi, of course) and we also busted out some deadly Karate moves. Wanna see more?? Stay tuned... more to come!

Sometimes, I get lucky enough to spend an hour or two shooting sweet little boys just like this. Makes me fondly remember when my guys were small...seems so long ago. Cherish this time with your children. It passes far too quickly.

I am so lucky to have the opportunity to spend time with clients who become friends and friends who become clients. It adds an extra layer of specialness to each session that makes the experience just a little richer... a little more meaningful. I know that these parents treasure moments where their kids are treating each other with kindness and it highlights the very best parts of having siblings in the house. I am the lucky one to be able to create these kinds of images for them :)

brotherly love | whitehorse children's photographer

It's not always easy to get two brothers to sit nicely together while smiling for the camera.. in fact, some days it's downright impossible. So instead we opt for lots of different perspectives on each person on his own! And that's exactly how we rocked this session! First, Mister Hudson was all about turning on the charm for the camera and had NO shortage of smiles for me! Then Big Brother Zander decided that even though he wasn't sure if I was okay or not, that riding in the wagon with his special bear, Fozzy might be okay. Looks like we all had fun while making lovely images for mama to enjoy!

girls just wanna have fun | whitehorse children's photographer

Sometimes, I think "man, I am so lucky to have my job" and this session was exactly one of those times. Maybe I have a soft spot for little girls but then again, I know I love my little boy clients too... I think that I just love little people.

Brooke was a doll. She was silly, chatty and very bouncy. We goofed off all over the studio - jumped on the bed, did spins & bounced all over the place and yeah, we threw in a little tickle fight just for good measure. I had a great time and judging by the smiles & laughter, I'm pretty sure Brooke had fun too!

giggles & smiles | whitehorse children's photographer

There are only few things that make me gush and big chocolate brown eyes is one of those things. Erin (and her love of pink & purple) just made my day. She was cheeky, sassy and extremely fun to work with. Okay, maybe I have a bit of a weakness for freckles and eyelashes too...
